Chez Rémy is a unique food stall located near Tenjin Yatai Mune, offering a French twist to the traditional Japanese yatai concept. Despite its appearance as an ordinary roadside cart, it serves up a variety of French delicacies such as garlic butter escargot and mussels in wine, along with fusion dishes like bouillabaisse ramen.
Great food, fun atmosphere, friendly staff. Chef makes people feel welcome and provides an entertaining atmosphere. Most do if in Fukuoka

Chez Rémy is a yatai run by three French expats who whip up some French cuisine for their hungry customers. The atmosphere of the yatai was upbeat and the three work together well to keep things moving along.
Jason C — Google review
I was looking forward to my first Fukuoka yatai experience and with the abundance of choices, it was difficult to select which would break my cherry. But my partner recommended we get something different, a cuisine you can’t get everyday. So Remy’s floated to the top of the list, French cuisine in Japan. This Saturday night, we committed to the wait and stayed for the hour long line. The best part of that hour was the awesome young kid who took our order and practiced his English skills on me. It was great as we both learned from each other and we left better communicators after the interaction. Finally after the wait, we were seated and our order came in promptly. Nama biru, mussels in white wine and garlic sauce, home made sausage, shrimp and mushroom in garlic sauce, and escargot. My goodness, the food was incredible! The common denominator I found, was the garlic butter and it made every dish it involved, amazing! Honestly I could’ve ordered four orders of each dish and I would’ve been happy with my dinner. We loved all the dishes, but what set this place apart was the personalities behind the counter. Remy himself is a sitcom in real life and the other partners he had accompanying him were just as wholesome and friendly. However long the wait is, it’s worth it!

A legend of Fukuoka doesn’t disappoint! Short, but pleasant experience. Good food ! Waiting line was about 20-25 minutes shortly after the opening ( at 6pm)

Fabulous dinner at Remy’s Tatai. Super friendly staff who are very accomodating speaking many languages English included. Beautiful food particularly Escargot, Prawns, Mushrooms all done in oil and Garlic. Quiche, pumpkin gnocchi, sausage and mussels where also fantastic. A must see yatai in Fukuoka.

Great Yatai. You can found great french food and the staff is really kind. If you want to discover the best part of France, go there. They have also some vegan food.

Full experience on this food stall is superb. The quality and the taste of the foods are great. Pick the escargot, since it's one of the most popular food here. The garlic and butter on the escargot are very rich and tasty. If you want to try the small version of French food, you could go here, but if you want authentic French food experience, this is not the place for you.Remy-san is also very friendly and always tried to chat with his customers, so everyone feels welcomed here. There's always a line here, so you should come early before 5 pm, or on less busy days. Not recommended to come at holidays, because tourist also came here during holidays

A great yatai to experience french food. The staff was very friendly, creating a great atmosphere! I was enjoying myself too much, so only gat pictures of two dishes!

Went here last night for our last day in Fukuoka. Incredibly friendly chef, was truly a unique experience and environment. Food was great. Be prepared to wait a while or come early before opening, as quite the line forms. There was still a line up even after the google mentioned closing time. Great place your looking for a unique experience with an interactive friendly chef and good food. Would have ordered more but had a large dinner that didn't fully subside yet.

Decided to try Chez Remy after seeing it on YouTube. We went on a weekday and waited 90 mins, which is understandable given the stall's popularity. Other than the quiche, the food was pretty underwhelming and the escargot was very salty. The chef is definitely a character but personally, the sporadic yells were more disruptive than funny. The staff were also talking about the customers in front of them in French. It's fine for the experience but we wouldn't go again.
Yinki Y — Google review
The food was alright at best but the atmosphere and the service made up for it. As regular non-Japanese tourist, you might not find this place that special because ingredients are basically frozen stuff from Costco. You go for the Yatai experience and good chat with fellow customers that visit the same time as you. It teaches you patience queueing up for almost 2 hours. Chef Remy has a good personality, though. Cool guy.
Pirat S — Google review
Chef Remy really knows how to liven up the atmosphere and despite being a long queue, they are very efficient with the cooking of the food and you don't wait more than 2 minutes for the food to come out. We really enjoyed the pumpkin gnocchi. A tip is to come 30 mins before they open to ensure you are the first batch to eat.

The business has menus in English for non speaking person's like me. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is cozy. I found my visit to be very entertaining. A must visit if you're in Fukuoka. Wowza.

really looked forward to going to this place. It started well despite the long wait time with the waitstaff taking orders while we were in line who was quite funny and attentive. I ordered escargot and the mussels paired with a glass of white wine. I was excited when it was finally my turn. however, my first bite of the mussels was a bit of an uncomfortable quandry for a traveler, as it was ice cold to the point the inside was crunchy lol i didnt want to spit it out as it was embarassing and people were seated really close together and didnt want to make others uncomfortable. so even worried about getting sick the night before my flight, i swallowed it down 😅 and shifted to eating the escargot. this dish was good: cooked and seasoned well and without the grit that comes with poorly done escargot. i went back to the mussels one more time to check if it was a fluke but the second bite was cold as well in the middle. at that point, i did my best to remove it from mouth as covertly as i could to be polite. focused on finishing my wine and escargot while observing the staff and the crowd. the customers were predominantly locals that night with the exception of myself and another couple. seemed the chef was more comfortable interacting with the locals; not surprising, but it does make it a less enjoyable experience, even a bit uncomfortable/disconcerting, for those not included/unable to understand the interactions. so once done with my wine, i paid and left. note that this yatai is cash only.

certainly one of the most entertaining and interesting address in Fukuoka. Rémy and his team are just a bubble of french fantasy in the infamous Yatai community! Bon appétit!

Fun atmosphere. Chez Remy is so entertaining and cooks up some really tasty eats at a great price. English friendly. Chill easy going vibes.
Kevin K — Google review
It is very popular with both locals and tourists. The Chef is very interesting and entertains his customers well, which adds to the ambience of the small street stall. I had the escargot which was delicious and decent-sized. The guests around me had praises for the food as well.

Awesome yatai south of Tenjin. The staff spoke English, Japanese, and French. Remy-san is so goofy and the staff is friendly and welcoming. We queued up on a weeknight and it was properly busy by the time we sat down. If you’re bigger than a group of 3, you might get split up but we were lucky and our group of 4 were able to sit together. They take your order before you sit down and the dishes are big enough that you can still pick 3-4 dishes off the menu to try without feeling too full. The mussels were my favorite and the glass of French wine wasn’t bad at all. Ballpark price was between 750-850 yen per dish. It’s a great spot if you want a break from the multiple local cuisine lining the streets of Tenjin at night. Make sure to bring cash!

Ramen restaurant
Ichiran is an informal ramen restaurant in Fukuoka City known for its specialty tonkotsu ramen, a type of hakata ramen. This style of ramen features a cloudy broth made by boiling pork bones over high heat for several hours. One unique feature of Ichiran is the ability to customize your ramen, including the texture of the noodles, allowing visitors to enjoy a personalized bowl of this iconic dish.
English language option on the order machine. Buy a ticket then take a seat and press call button.Avoid queue as this outlet is quieter than the othersIt's tasty pork ramen, would recommend 😀

First time trying ichiran. Queued outside and paid and got the receipts before seating. Went with friends and we sat next to each other but the booth was for one person only. Very exquisite private dining experience. There were baskets to place bags on the floor behind the eating booths. Ordered the classic and liked that you can customise the ramen to your preference such as noodle texture. Also curious about the matcha almond pudding so i got it. Really loved the noodles and can see myself coming back to eat ichiran again.

Place is good, ramen is delicious but nothing special on my opinion. Just like the other ramen stall out there. But the experience is good. 👍

You can expect a small line that moves quickly. There is a machine where you make your initial order, and it has an English option. You can tap to pay if your cc allows. Once lined up, you'll get a page, also with English. You can customize your order. If you're with others, they will reasonably tru to seat you together but honestly, it's best enjoyed as a solo experience. At your little counter space, there is a personal tap for water and a privacy screen for after they serve you. If you need to communicate but don't want to talk, there are bilingual wood blocks that include one to indicate it's too noisy. The raman is delicious and served hot to your specifications. Which, if you're like me and prefer firm noodles, garlic, and strong dashing flavour, it will make you happy.

Much smaller than most stores but the Tenjin one is fine if the line for the Hakata one is too long. Only about 6 mins walk.
Sonya — Google review
Pretty much eat and go. It is made for individual eating. This place, you order and pay on a touch screen before grabbing a seat. I find it nothing really special besides their famous name. You can choose how well you want your noddles, they let you choose up to one clove of garlic to add, the spicy level (if you can handle your spicy, then the hottest they have is not even hot. The regular size is about the size of an American small bowl or you can get their set which includes extra noodles. The service is absolute awesome, once you give them your tickets and the questionnaire then it comes out in five minutes or less.

This ended up being the best ramen I had in Fukuoka. They let you modify several parameters after you order via a paper request form. Sitting in a private bar booth was also fun. I would go out of my way to eat here again. Excellent!

Ramen soup was good at first, but as you keep eating, it gets too salty. The queue at this branch was very short, we didn’t need to wait long.
Nuch S — Google review
No line when we went at 1800 on a Saturday unlike the other branches in Fukuoka. Great service and the ramen was the same as every other Ichiran I have been to across Japan. Seems to be a secret location at the moment!

Just reviewing this as Google’s fault as I only searched for this while watching a youtube video. Why would this ask me for a review? But honestly I have had been to Ichiran twice and I would prefer a random local ramen place rather than a touristy one.

Head to EXIT 13 to get to the food court place. This branch has less people coming but it does get crowded during the weekends but with less waiting time and not as crowded as the rest of the known branch. The taste and service are superb as always!

Restaurant
Yamanaka is an upscale restaurant offering authentic Hakata-mae sushi made with a variety of fresh seafood from Genkainada and Hakata bay. The chef personally handpicks the seafood and creates the restaurant's special soy sauce, ensuring top-quality Japanese cuisine. The contemporary setting exudes a serene vibe, making it a must-visit stop for culinary enthusiasts exploring Fukuoka. Guests praise the delicious and beautifully presented sushi, as well as the spacious and relaxing atmosphere inside the remarkable building.
Reservations highly recommended. We had to take a private room on the second floor as the counter and tables on the ground floor were all booked. There is a 10% extra service charge for the rooms but it was worth the money. Food is delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. For non-Japanese speaking customers, it is advisable to get translation app on your phone so you know what you are eating.

Mizutaki is one of the famous local dishes of Fukuoka. Nabe, or hot pot, is boiled meat and vegetables in a broth of some kind. The meat in mizutaki is chicken—usually ground or cut pieces of dark meat. Add some tofu and vegetables, dip in the sauce, and away you go. You’ll have rice on the side and whatever beverage you choose. I recommend going during the cooler months, so you can warm up.

(Translated by Google)I went to Mizutaki Nagano, a famous mizutaki restaurant in Hakata. It was busy on Saturdays and Sundays, but I managed to get a reservation. When I went there, of course it was full. What I ordered wasMizutaki Nagano mince course [with soup]is.Mizutaki Nagano mince course [with soup]In addition to the basic "Mizutaki Nagano bone-in course," which uses bone-in chicken, the "Mizutaki Nagano minced course" also includes meatballs, liver, and heart. If you cook bone-in chicken in cloudy soup and drink just the soup first, it will have a gentle taste.Once the chicken is boiled, add vegetables, tofu, shirataki mushrooms, etc. and cook until eaten with soy sauce. The chicken is tender and delicious. You can also add paper using grated autumn leaves. Also, the meatballs are chewy and have a good liver and heart flavor. To finish off the dish, I made ojiya with beaten eggs.It was definitely delicious.

Best to make reservations. We went without for lunch but went 10mins before opening. There was a line already and everyone but us had reservations. So we had to wait for a few minutes while they processed everyone with reservations first. Luckily there was space for usIt’s an interesting experience overall . If you like chicken and insides/offal , this is the place for you! Unlikely to go back again but glad to have done it once.

Japan is a country that gives extreme importance to おもてなし (hospitality). This restaurant can’t even be hospitable on the phone! I was fooled by the reviews and decided to book this place. I wanted to cancel my reservation, because I came down with a high fever. The woman who picked up the phone was so rude. Will never even give your place a try anymore!

(Translated by Google)Mizutaki was very delicious!Sauce when eating? It's also good to eat refreshingly with vinegar! !If you arrive less than 10 minutes before your reservation time, you will have to kill time outside. You will get yelled at if you are late.If you go 15 minutes after your reservation time, you won't be able to fill the hot pot, so please be careful when you go.

Was lucky to walk-in and get a slot even when we did not make a reservation. Immersive experience as they guide us through the steps. It was delicious.
